Former Embakasi East MP aspirant Francis Mureithi Wambugu at the Milimani law courts on November 25, 2020. He pleaded not guilty to seven counts of obtaining money by pretense. Former Embakasi East MP aspirant Francis Mureithi has been charged with fraud of Sh320 million in a military tender scam.

He is accused that with intent to defraud, he obtained Sh320 million by pretending that the DOC company had contracts with the Ministry of Defence to supply foodstuffs with a Department of Defense and a sugar distribution agreement with Mumias Sugar, among other contacts.
He allegedly committed the offense between April 26 and November 3, 2016, in the country.
He denied the charges before Milimani chief magistrate Martha Mutuku.
Through his lawyers, led by Dancun Okach, he pleaded for lenient bond terms.
He has been ordered released on a cash bail of Sh5 million or a bond of Sh10 million.
The case will be mentioned on December 8.
