Our investigative team has unraveled massive tricks and tactics that led to the loss of Sh1.5 billion at the hands of rogue businessmen Peter David Leparakwo, Fredrick Kimemia Kimani, and the controversial Cirtext Kenya Ltd.
This is after we obtained massive documents that show that the NHIF lost billions through their corrupt linked syndicates.
They have so far denied the said charges in court; hence, I found it not necessary to reach out to them for their comment.
The two suspects, along with their company, are facing charges related to Sh1.5 billion in Karen, in which they allegedly defrauded the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
For instance, Court papers show that Peter David Leparakwo, Cirtext Kenya Ltd., and Fredrick Kimemia Kimani were charged in court in 2023, but they pleaded not guilty.
For instance, In count 1, the defendant Leparakwo accused that on 29th October 2013 at Nairobi County, jointly with others not before the court, with intent to defraud NHIF, he allegedly forged a title deed for the said land measuring 9.5 acres, contrary to the law. He denies the wrongdoing despite the massive evidence alluded to by the prosecution.
Peter David Leparakwo and Fredrick Kimemia Kimani
The evidence alluded to by the Dpp shows that the accused person forged a title of land certificate purporting it to be a genuine and valid certificate prepared and issued by the chief land registrar at the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning at the Nairobi land registry; the objective of all this was to defraud the said NHIF land.
Further counts show that they were behind the fraud that left the NHIF with Sh1.5 billion.
We shall be putting our eyes on the matter as it come up for further directions next month
