Three women were Wednesday charged at a Kibera court for allegedly stealing alcoholic stock worth Sh 7.2 million from their employer.

The three women, Pecina Aduma Onyango, Caroline Akinyi Ouma, and Margaret Wanjiku Ruguru, were charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Margret Murage where they denied the charges.The court heard that the three accused persons allegedly stole the cash meant for alcoholic drinks worth Sh 7,233,919. According to the charge sheet presented before the court, the accused persons committed the offense on diverse dates between January 1 and August 13 at an unknown time at Highbury Liquor Shop.

The shop is located along 14 Riverside Drive in Kileleshwa, within Nairobi County. Highbury Liquor Shop is the complainant in the case. Their lawyer urged the court to grant them lenient bond terms and requested that he be supplied with all the witness and documentary statements that the prosecution intended to rely on during the entire trial. The magistrate released two of them on bond The case will be mentioned on January 29 for further directions.
