Harambee Starlets have Thursday intensified their training at Nyayo National Stadium ahead of the Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier match against Botswana.
The Beldine Odemba led side entered day four of their training on Thursday as more players joined the camp, six days before their home match against the Southern Africans.
On Wednesday Simba Queens trio of Ruth Ingosi who captains the Starlets, influential midfielder Vivian Corazone Aquino and newly recruited Elizabeth Wambui trained for the first day with the Starlets; with Ingosi saying they are psyched up ahead of the match.
“The morale in the camp is high, since our win over Cameroon. We will take Botswana head on and I want to assure our fans that we will not let them down. We ask for their support,” said Ingosi.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has already promised the Kenyan Queens a cash reward of Sh.5 million, should they see off Botswana in a the legged affair and qualify for WAFCON.
Starlets will play Botswana in the first leg on November 29 at Nyayo National Stadium before flying out to Gaborone in the return match slated for December 5.
To reach the final stage of the qualifiers, Harambee Starlets edged Cameroon in post-match penalties (4-3) after a 1-1 aggregate from the Yaoundé and Nairobi ties respectively.
